Scrapbook Layouts and Forums

I completed this layout for the HOF Challenge (assignment D: create layout using patterned paper, rub-on letter or image and ribbon or fiber). Not sure it's HOF material but I completed it for this online challenge!!



Supplies: Bazzill CS, Chatterbox PP ("Olive campus flower&quot, ribbon by Offray, fiber by www.fibersbytheyard.com, rub ons by Making Memories ("trademark" on ribbon & "destination" for dots in title), letter stickers by Me and My Big Ideas "vintage alpha small", foam stamps by Duncan Enterprises (www.duncancrafts.com) *thanks Brianna!*, acrylic paint by DecoArt, circle dome sticker by K & Co., alpha charm by Li'l Davis, font is Arial Narrow and there is stitching.



Journaling reads: Elizabeth was assigned in Kindermusik to make a small and simple scrapbook. The children were to pick around 8 photos from the past and then take their own pictures and choose a few to add. Well, obviously “small” was not what Elizabeth had in mind. She picked FORTY photos that she just had to have from our digital collection on the computer. The big challenge was finding a way to make all the randomly picked pictures (from the last eight months) work together. I devised a plan for themes such as “things I like to do” and “places I like to go,” etc. The most fun for Elizabeth wasn’t putting the scrapbook together and telling the story; it was getting to use my digital camera to take photos. Within about a two hour period (or less), she took about 140 photos! She took pictures of everything: socks lying on the floor, the clock radio by the bedside, etc and even positioned her toys on the floor. She figured out how to take a picture of herself in the bathroom mirror and got even more creative and put the camera on her stool, laid down with a few of her My Little Pony collection and shot a self-portrait. When I uploaded the pictures to the computer, I was amazed and entertained. I loved seeing and once again realizing the perspective of a 4 ½ year old: 3 ½ feet from the floor, looking way up at the fireplace and other objects, being close to the ground, etc. I hope I can remember to see things the way she does . . . through her eyes.
