A photo of our new kitten. I like how this layout turned out. TFL
Journaling:
Daisy. Who was almost Rose, and then Rosie which was followed by Lily, but ultimately Mommy thought of “Daisy”. (There was definitely a floral motif going.) It fit - she was white with orange markings. I got the ‘okay’ from the kids, so it was official. Elizabeth gave her a middle name, “Anne,” after herself.
Elizabeth had seen her at the Garland Farms playground while we visited Griff and Dallas a couple of times one weekend. She was such a pretty and friendly kitten but quite thin. She quickly tugged at my heart strings. Unfortunately, not Wade’s. With a little sweet talking, coaxing and some downright nagging, the kids and I finally got him to cave and give us “permission” to take her. We waited a couple of days to bring her home so we could get ready, buying kitten food and installing a cat door. Daisy came to stay with us the Sunday night before Labor Day, Sept. 4, 2004.
I guessed she was 4-5 months old, but after a visit to the veterinarian’s they said she was closer to six months, just small from lack of food. A very loving and gentle kitten, even the vet and assistants told us that she was an extremely laidback cat. The doctor also noted that she had unusual markings on her head for a tabby cat with her colors. Having her for only a month, we had already spent around $200 to get her shots and spayed; however, she has already caught four moles so she is proving to be worth her weight in gold!
