The scan for this layout was a little wonky because of the photo mat! Sorry!! ~Leslie

Reminisce designs (www.designsbyreminisce.com) – “Independence Day,” “American Stars,” and Freedom Collection Word Stickers, font is Arial Narrow, photo mat by Furio home, acrylic paint.

Journaling/photo mat designed in Photoshop Elements 3.0.

Journaling reads "July fourth fell on a Monday this year. Wade had to get up and mow the yard and I had to make a dessert for our cookout at Pop and Nannie’s cabin on Watauga Lake.

After an hour drive to the lake, we reached the cabin for lunch. After eating, we finally got Jon and Wade to get Pop’s pontoon boat ready to take a ride. Elizabeth and Andrew enjoyed this and had been looking forward to it for several days.

This year we once again invited Papaw and Nana over for dinner and then to go together to see the fireworks in Johnson City. We had Wade’s truck so we were able to pull up off the road and into the grass for a fabulous area to watch the fireworks. Nana made our wait for the show pleasurable by providing Starbursts for the kids.

Our “seats” were definitely the best we have had. The fireworks looked as if they were coming down on us. Ultimately, it was worth the longer trip home through traffic for the view!"
