I just saw Lisa Russo's new scrap room on Two Peas and I love it: http://www.twopeasinabucket.com/cg_main.asp?cmd=display&seed_id=19947&pg=1 I think it could be my dream scrap room!! One of these days! Wade says when we build a house (which is supposed to be our next house and not anytime soon) that he will let me have a huge room and I can do whatever I want to design it. It's nice to think of but I do enjoy my room I have now. It does me well.
Anyone else see a dream scrap room online or one that looks neat? Does anyone know exactly what they would like theirs to look like? OR do you have ideas you would like to share?

This excerpt is from her comments about her room. I found it very good advice.
Being the organizational freak that I am...here are some things I've
learned (tips, if you will...)
• STAND! Seriously. I was a sitting scrapper for 5 years. Not only
didn't it help my large butt, but my scrapping as well. I only used
what I could reach. Standing? I move around, I look, I dig. And I use
things I'd forgotten I had.
• Mix stuff up. Some things should be broken out by manufacturer,
but do you really NEED to have your brads and snaps organized
out by color, size, and shape (who, me??). Turns out the answer is no. • If you're designing a room from scratch, or just reorganizing the
one you want, MEASURE AND LIST. Don't just go to Target and
say "Hey, that's a pretty box." Take an inventory of what you have
and how you want to store it. Then measure and go to the store
with that list in-hand.

I really like the set up in Carrie Owens room (old 2peas newsletter). I love to stand & scrapbook.

If I had the money & a room, I know exactly what I would do with it. I've been looking through the Pottery Barn catalogs (wow). I'll try to scan the images from the catalogs of what I would do with my room. I ould have my dad build everything. I would do tan walls with black furniture. Very classic & simple. Plus, I would love to have a place to take photographs. Like a wall that I could hang some fabric on with great natural lighting.

Those are both great rooms!

This is the workspace I would have in my dream room (& enough space for a friend too). I would also have a desk for my computer & printer/scanner. Plus my scrapbook armoire (my dad built it for my birthday last year) would also be refinished & painted to match the rest of the furniture & I would use it for my sewing machine & storage. There would be some shelving too.
I've loaded the other pictures to the gallery

Oh, I love the last picture posted. I would want a shelving system like the ones in Pottery Barn Kids. A huge table, stool height so I can see everything and cut fabric and sew. They have this tall, 12 or more drawer chest at Hobby Lobby. This would be wonderful for my paper collection that is out of hand. I just buy paper to buy paper to maybe use someday.

I love the classy look of Pottery Barn's furniture too. AND Brianna, I love the black furniture too. I think that is what made me like Lisa Russo's room so much. I haven't been able to look at Carrie Owen's room yet. I love that large desk with the shelf on the side - would be cool to hold jars of embellishments or ribbons or something! And in my dream scrap room, I would like a space for my sewing machine (which I have done actually right now), a space for messy stuff (like sanding, heat embossing, etc), a space for my computer, scanner, printer and a large space to work on. I stand when I scrap too! My friends I've scrapped with for several years used to make fun of me for doing that but now it seems a lot of scrappers do that (or realize they do!). I have my paper in a hanging file rolling cart from Staples ($30) that I bought a looooong time ago. I still love it though. It rolls under my table when I'm done and I can look through it easy.

I'll try to scan some photos of my armoire that my dad built me. We have it @ the foot of our bed in our master bedroom. It's 6 feet tall, 3 feet wide & almost 1 1/2 feet deep. I sketched my idea with general dimensions & then my dad made a few changes to improve the design. I've gotten a lot more scrapbooking done since I got the cabinet just because it's nice to have a designated place for my supplies & a work surface that I don't have to be overly cautious of. It has a fold out work surface that is 3 feet off the ground (perfect for standing) & it is 36 inches deep when folded out. I use the fold out part as my work surface & the other is home to my sewing machine (my mom had 2 so she gave me this one - which she has had since I was little if not before that) that is perfect for my scrapbooking, but I can only do a straight stitch @ the moment. {I'm hoping to get one of the Janome Porable machines for christmas. It does 8 different stitches, is only 5 lbs. & was created for crafters. It was fetured in one of the SS or SB Etc. mags. as a giveaway recently.} In the bottom half of my armoire, there is a space for my tool box to be stored & a 3 foot tall section of paper storage. I'm kinda stuck b/c I've only got enough room for my textured CS & a few spots to store my PP. So, I've been using the cropper hopper file folders for my PP storage, dividing it by manufacturer. On top, there are 5 drawers to store misc. things. {From L to R, Ribbon, Rick Rack & Thread; lettering stencils & tag stencils; stickers & rubons; paints, brushes & foam stamps; alterable items.} above that there are 3 spots for bigger items. { from L to R: 3 drawer cube for scraps; spot for albums; 2 stacking baskets for pics, negs, memorabilia, etc.}. So, this is my current conditions. So this is so long.

Well, you answered my question in this thread that I had posted on the pictures of your armoire. :)
I am not sure if I remember seeing that sewing machine but I get both of those magazines. I'll have to look it up on the internet sometime. I got a cheap sewing machine a couple of years ago. It does just basic stitches (straight, zig zag and can make button holes!! ;)) but it's worked great for me. I'm still using the same needle. I keep thinking I need to replace it b/c it's probably dull but it just keeps on working for me.

Thanks, Brianna! I will look it up later. Maybe I will have a chance tonight. Wade and I had plans to go to the Barter Theater and out to eat but Andrew woke up sick this morning so we had to cancel our plans and the babysitter. :( I had the seats reserved a month ago too. Andrew has a fever and won't eat or drink and threw up earlier this afternoon. The doctor called in Zithromax for him b/c they were so booked today with similar sicknesses. I can't get him to take it though. He's only had two ice pops today. Say a prayer for him if you could!
Okay, not to sabotage this thread or anything!! I will have to look up that sewing machine. Maybe I can get my scrap room clean tonight and take a few photos. :)

Well, I did get my room cleaned and took some shots of it last night but Wade was on the computer so I couldn't upload them. I just uploaded them to the computer and will put some together to upload here.
If you post to the thread concerning the website, then Mike would probably be happy to add a "scrap spaces" section.
Andrew is feeling better. YAY!! He must have had a 24 hour virus or maybe the anitbiotic is working. Either way, he is finishing the medicine (especially after I paid $35 for it!!).

I'm trying to upload a "collage" of 9 photos but it's too big (file size). So I am going to have to resize it. Give me a couple of minutes and I'll have it up!!

Wow - your room is so BIG. You are so lucky to have a dedicated room for scrapbooking. One day, I'll have my room............

Yes, you will, Brianna! I so enjoy having a room to scrap in and that I can share with the kids (although there are times I wish I didn't when they leave papers/supplies all over the floor!!). I think the room is around 12x14. It really is hard working around all those doorways but I really like how I have it configured now.
