Did you ever think that you would ever be this addicted to this hobby?

Not in the beginning, but I started by creating an album from a missions trip. I wasn't even 18, just graduated from HS. My albums were SO SIMPLE - no embellishments (except stickers), NO PP (gasp). In all honesty, Leslie is the one who really pushed me to explore the hobby. To look past the CS & stickers. I'm glad I did.

I found out about scrapbooking through Focus on the Family (James Dobson) before I had kids. I used to listen to his radio program daily. When I heard them talking about Creative Memories on his broadcast one day, I knew I wanted to do this. I LOVED stickers growing up and it was an "adult" way to play with them! ;) That was in 1998. When Elizabeth was born in 2000, I got more "into" and started getting magazines and really trying different things. I never thought I would get into it like I have but it makes me so happy. I get to be creative which I always enjoyed doing through different outlets growing up - cross-stitching, writing, crocheting, crafts, etc. I became a little obsessed about a year ago and had to take a break. It was crazy. Scrapbooking was all I thought about and I knew it wasn't good. Weird how a hobby can overtake you! So for about five months, I didn't even really scrapbook. Now I'm back in with a healthy attitude! LOL ;)

No, never in a million years. I think I'm a little backwards in scrapbooking. I don't have pictures that I need to make LOs for, I have LOs that I need pictures for. For me it's the creative art of the LOs not the pictures.

I laughed when my friend went to a SU party and then got into scrapbooking! Now look at me, I am so crazy about it!!
I love making a layout even if it's for one photo! I love this hobby and the friends I've made. I feel like it is truly something for everyone. No matter your level you are accepted!

ITA, Patty about this being a hobby that is "truly something for everyone." You can have a certain defined "style" or say "sb pages can have a style????" and still be happy. That is what I love about the group I sb with monthly. I've been in the group for over 3 years and we all know what kind of embellishments, pp, etc that appeals to each other - even though we may not like them ourselves. And our ages range in over a decade but when we get together and start talking, whether it's about our families or scrapbooking, we connect. It's great! A great social hobby for women.

Pamela - I know what you mean. I've created LOs & need photos for them before. I love the creative outlet it has given me. I also love that I am creating a way for my family to look back on our traditions or see what our daily life was like. This hobby does offer something for everyone.
