Hi!

I am working on the schedule of classes for the fall. Does anyone have any suggestions on classes they would like to see offered? I am thinking about card classes, photography classes, transparency classes, etc. Any other suggestions?

Pam, I am still waiting for you to teach the iris folding classes. Are you still interested?

Thanks for all your help.

Rhonda,

About a month ago I would have said NO WAY. I had to make 100 iris folded cd sleeve covers in 2 weeks for a sweet 16 party. I think I'll be ready for the fall. Plus, there are a lot of holiday themes that would be perfect for an iris folding card/LO class.

Oh boy do I have some other class ideas too.

Pam,

Do you want to teach these other classes? Or are they classes that you would be interested in taking? Do you want to share any of these ideas? I certainly need and appreciate all suggestions.

I would love to see a photography class be offered. card classes would be nice too. Th at would be so much fun. Maybe 2 different kinds of classes - an occassions classc (for birthdays, weddings, get well, graduation) & one for holidays.

Something for the intermediate scrapper would be nice. Like maybe a class on the hottest trends in the industry. That way people would maybe try some new products & trends they wouldn't have tried other-wise. I sometimes have to be "pushed" to try things, but then I'm "hooked".

Ohhh, I didn't see the transparency class idea - I LOVE Tansparency. They are so versatile. They can be used for everything - journaling, titles, embellishments, did I mention EVERYTHING? This would be an interesting class.

Now you have my mind going with all kinds of class ideas too.

Please keep the suggestions for new class ideas coming. When should we have a card class to get everyone started on their Christmas cards? September? I thought we might incorporate gift bags, gift cards, etc. in with the card making classes. (For example, if we are doing birthday cards--we could also make matching gift bags and gift cards to coordinate with the birthday cards.)

Transparencies would be a great way to try some new stuff. Doing transparencies on the computer, stamping them, painting them, etc.

Making a card organizer tin? Making decorated jars for teacher/friend gifts?

Just keep thinking about these ideas and keep them coming. Thanks!!!

You could also make a recipe box, using the same basic idea as the card box.

For the Christmas card class, the instructor could offer 4-5 different designs and those taking the class could choose to do one or all if they so choose so they aren't making 50 of the same thing. There are some good basic designs in the Card Creations idea books that would work well for this type of class too.

That sounds great Leslie. I like to do a variety for my Christmas cards. It makes the process fun, not mundane (sp?).

Rhonda,
How about a journaling class. To take people from just the who, what, when & where to heartfelt journaling. Journaling that stirs the emotions & brings you into the moment.

Hi!

These are all great ideas!!! Any volunteers on teachers out there? The SDU classes are keeping me busy right now--but maybe after 8/10 when school starts back--things will slow down a little!!!

Love the idea for a journaling class and a variety of Christmas cards. Thanks again for the feedback.

Pam,

I am already counting on you for the Iris folding class. How's that coming?

Maybe when I get back from Chicago, we can have a meeting about classes for the next quarter. I would like that!!

Thanks.
