How Many Of You Have An Art/sketch Journal You Use For Your Lo's!

I have a notebook of pictures and ideas. I'll make notes as to what I like or what I might use in a LO.

I've got tons of different methods to store my sketches & ideas.

- when I get new mags or idea books, I go through it & sketch the LOs that really stand out to me. I use these great spiral bound books that have graph paper in them. It makes it much easier to create sketches with the graph paper as a guide.

- once the mags are 2 months old, I go back through it & cut out any LOs I sketched & attach it to the sketch I made of it. With Idea Books, I just try my best to remember to put which book, pg & LO the sketch is after.

- I also pull out any mag articles that I really liked & put them in a 3 prong binder with pg. protectors.

- Sketches that are posted online (Becky Higgins or Becky Fleck, for instance) are printed & put in another 3 prong binder with pg. protectors.

- IF I see an idea online I try my best to print it & put it in the sketch book or idea folder, for visual reference & so I don't forget where I found it.

So, this is my process. I've tried to simplify & modify it, but this is what seems to work best for me.

One other thing - when I go through & use a sketch in my sketch book, I will put the LO details: journaling, title, design details, products used, etc. so that I have a record too.

I've started tearing out the pages out of magazines with LOs i like and putting them in a binder.

I used to always sketch mine in a sketch book and I had them separated by like 1 photo LOs, 2 photo LOs, 3 photo LOs and 4 or more photos LOs. BUT now I just cut them out of the magazine. My life got too busy to do that. Now I separate the ones I cut out by design (whether the overall LO or the title), LO idea and photography.
