Have you fully explored your options for home decor with the Silhouette?
Try this simple project and create a stunning vase with a faux stained glass design to match the colors in your home, or give it away as a wedding gift this Spring!
 Here's how: http://quickutz.typepad.com/.a/6a00e008cf7360883400e552910eba8834-350wi ([LEFT)

Wash and dry the surface of a smooth glass vase.
Cut out   Digital Design "flower_0685" using black adhesive vinyl (http://www.quickutz.com/qk2/viewItem.aspx?ic=SILH-VINYL-BLK). Remove the inside pieces of the intricate design (the Quickutz universal hook tool (http://www.quickutz.com/qk2/viewitem.aspx?ic=qk-tool-01) works well for that).
Use transfer paper (http://www.quickutz.com/qk2/viewItem.aspx?iC=SILH-TRANS-PPR) (recommended) to apply the design to the surface of the vase.
Paint the inside of the vase, behind the flower design, with coordinating colors of stained glass paint.
This project was created by QuicKutz designer Amy Walton (http://www.quickutz.com/qk2/ideas/DT2007/Walton.aspx).
(The intricate flower shape is part of today's new Silhouette release with an Elegant Spring theme. There are some really cool new digital designs, especially for bird lovers!)
You could actually use this technique to create beautiful stained glass shapes out of other QuicKutz shapes cut out from black adhesive vinyl with the Revolution or Squeeze. You just need to select shapes that have hollow areas, maybe like the heart RS-0047 (http://www.quickutz.com/qk2/viewItem.aspx?ic=RS-0047) or the monarch butterfly REV-0088 (http://www.quickutz.com/qk2/viewItem.aspx?iC=REV-0088).
If you make something like this, be sure to post it for everyone to see in the QK Community (http://www.quickutz.com/qk2/myqk/memberProjects.aspx)!
Best wishes for a great weekend,
Yvette
